The Meadowlark Ski and Lake Lodge has been acquired by MAS Tierra, a Florida-based hospitality company. Located in Wyoming’s Bighorn National Forest, Meadowlark Lodge provides a place to stay for skiers, riders, and hikers exploring the area’s mountainous terrain. The lodge will now be operated by MAS Tierra, which looks to shape Meadowlark into a popular year-round destination.
MAS Tierra is a newly-formed venture operating under the Miami-based investment firm MAS Alpha Securities. The acquisition is MAS Tierra’s first initiative, and it aims to have the lodge ready for the 2026/27 winter season. MAS Tierra was founded by Jose Mas Jr. with the idea that “the most meaningful experiences come from a deep connection to place.”
“The main goal is to respect the natural environment and atmosphere, while also stewarding a grounding, elevated, and engaging experience,” said Mas Jr. in a PR Newswire article.

MAS Tierra has its vision set on new offerings from Meadowlark Lodge. The company wants to establish a program for immersion in the Big Horn Mountains with excursions, nature exploration, and guided tours.
The Meadowlark Lodge offers skiing in the lower portion of the Bighorn Mountains. The area features two lifts, 14 runs, and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. What Meadowlark Lodge lacks in size, it makes up for in views of the Bighorn Mountain, community vibe, and the lack of lift lines. With terrain for both beginner and advanced skiers, Meadowlark is a place where all can find something to enjoy.
The acquisition of Meadowlark Lodge comes amidst a larger trend in skiing where more and more small mom-and-pop resorts are being bought up by larger companies. Rising operating costs and inconsistent snowfall have made it more challenging to run resorts independently, forcing them to look to larger companies for support.

At the same time, larger hospitality and resort companies see opportunities to grow their portfolios by acquiring smaller resorts. While new ownership can keep these resorts alive, many skiers and snowboarders have felt that this trend has made their passion more difficult to afford.
Meadowlark Lodge is expected to be ready for business at the start of the 2026/27 winter season.
